Have some fun riding through the trails
Simcoe County has some of the oldest single track trails in the province.
The trail system within the Simcoe County Forests consists of a series of tracts with limited linkage for trail plated motorcycles.
The Ontario Federation of Trail Riders (OFTR) has a use agreement in Simcoe County and OFTR membership is required to ride here. www.oftr.ca .This agreement is new and under constant review.
There are two local clubs responsible for stewardship, the Halton Off Road Riders Association (www.horra.ca) and Simcoe County Off Road Riders Association (www.scorra.ca). Respect their efforts and act accordingly.
The trails in the Simcoe County Forests are patrolled by OPP, By-Law officers and the local clubs. Be sure to have all of your paperwork available when you are stopped on the trail.
If you see anyone acting inappropriately or endangering others, get as much information as you can such as plate numbers, description and location and then call police.
Know where to ride.
Respect signage in regards to motorized use and note that the major trails in Simcoe County such as the railtrails, waterfront trails, etc. do not allow motorcycles or dirt bikes.
Most Simcoe County Forests have or will have designated trails, however, some are not open to motorcycles. So do not ride past signs where motorcycles are not allowed.
Your cooperation is appreciated.
